Patient Care

Partnering with clinical leaders

The clinic is the classroom at NSU. Spending more time learning directly from experienced community physicians, rather than in the classroom, allows students to learn about various specialties and sub-specialties of medicine, as well as the specific challenges and opportunities in each field.

We will inspire and achieve clinical excellence by:

  • Attracting innovative and respected physician leaders to serve as advisers, educators, and mentors to our future students
  • Following a philosophy of responsiveness, openness, transparency, and camaraderie – values which are synonymous with the millennial generation
  • Preparing our future students to ethically and enthusiastically treat tomorrow’s health care challenges
  • Partnering with leading health care organizations and hospitals to offer diverse clinical opportunities to our future students

Teaching and Research Hospital

Hospital Corporation of America East Florida is planning to build a teaching and research hospital, integrated with NSU’s research centers and clinical trial programs, on NSU’s Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus. Located in the heart of Broward County, with easy highway and airport access, this more than 200-bed hospital will provide widespread benefits for patients who live in South Florida and those who travel from outside the area—including the Caribbean and Latin America—to receive comprehensive care from a university-based teaching and research hospital.

Clinical Sites for Core Rotations

The M.D. College has established a clinical affiliation agreement with HCA East Florida to provide the core clinical rotation experiences for medical students at a variety of HCA locations on the southeast coast of Florida. Additionally, the college secured a commitment from the West Palm VA Medical Center to provide additional rotations. View the map for current locations.
