Lauren Fine, M.D.

Assistant Professor, Physician Educator

Dr. Lauren Fine joined the College of Allopathic Medicine in 2017. Her primary role is leader of Practice of Medicine I (POM I) in which she will be teaching first-year medical students foundational skills in medical exams and history. She works closely with the problem-based learning (PBL) faculty to ensure the skills learned in POM I are integrated in a way that enhances the students’ learning experiences.

Prior to joining NSU, Dr. Fine was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL where she practiced Allergy/Immunology and taught PBL and Clinical Skills with both the M.D. and M.D./M.P.H. students. 

While she is originally from Cincinnati, OH, she has spent most of her adult life in South Florida.  After graduating Washington University in St. Louis with a Major in Biology and a Minor in Writing, she joined the 2006 graduating class of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Following graduation from medical school, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Allergy/Immunology at the University of Minnesota. 

Dr. Fine has been on the editorial board for the Journal of Asthma since 2014.  Her publications have focused on many topics within her field, ranging from asthma to eosinophilic esophagitis. She continues her clinical career in Allergy/Immunology treating veterans at the William Bill Kling VA Medical Center in Broward County, FL.
