The NSU MD Health Equity Grand Rounds is coming this fall!

Program Objectives: Healthcare and health equity issues will likely be encountered by healthcare providers throughout their education and practices, and it is important to have a forum where the root causes of inequities can be discussed. The goal of this program is to engage the local NSU community in interactive sessions that will enable participants to recognize the role of implicit bias and structural racism in patient care, recognize health disparities, and to discuss strategies to address these issues. NSU MD faculty and students as well as invited speakers of local and national prominence are invited to present in this series.

After participation in these activities, attendees should be able to:
  • Describe the role of implicit bias and structural racism in patient care.
  • Identify health disparities affecting various vulnerable and underserved communities locally and nationally.
  • Understand and apply evidence-based strategies to enhance health equity across various populations.
