One NSU: Inclusion and Diversity

We are Diverse. We are Inclusive. We are One NSU.

As a global teaching and learning community with more than 116 countries represented, NSU is proud to maintain a campus environment that is genuinely respectful of every human experience and open to the diversity of voices that make up our multicultural community.NSU is a minority-majority university and the largest private, not-for-profit institution in the United States that meets the U.S. Department of Education's criteria as a Hispanic-serving Institution.

As part of our College and University's core values, diversity and inclusiveness are fundamental to how we work together and how we enrich our learning, research and clinical practice environments. The philosophy guides all practices in class, coursework, and professional and collegial relationships, as well as proactive efforts to improve research, education, and patient care efforts to best serve our diverse communities.

We are committed to educating our students in a manner that is respectful of all cultural traditions and practices, gender identities, sexual orientations, age, religious/spiritual beliefs, and in all areas that distinguish individuals.

Diversity
Includes, but is not limited to, race, ethnicity, culture, religion, philosophy, gender, physical, socioeconomic status, age and sexual orientation. Diversity enriches a learning environment focused on preparing individuals to live and work in a global society.

Inclusion:
Inclusivity is an intention or policy of including people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized, such as those who are handicapped or learning-disabled, or racial and sexual minorities
Inclusion‐‐As the word "diversity" refers to all forms of differences, our use of the term inclusion is meant to invite a new consciousness of community.
