Eric Schiffman, M.D., M.B.A., was raised in West Caldwell, New Jersey, a suburb of New York City. After high school, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree, and membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies. After college he began his medical studies at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, a Level One Trauma Center, where he benefitted from comprehensive surgical experience, and developed expertise in complex orthopedic trauma procedures. As chief resident, Dr. Schiffman took a keen interest in joint reconstruction and pursued this subspecialty in an Adult Joint Reconstruction Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard University. It was there that Dr. Schiffman had the opportunity to work side-by-side with many world-renowned surgical specialists in the areas of hip and knee replacements. He was also a faculty member of the Harvard Medical School where he helped educate medical students in joint reconstruction, and took Level One orthopedic trauma calls.

Following his Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard University experience, Dr. Schiffman was appointed head of the joint reconstruction program at Adena Regional Medical Center outside of Columbus, Ohio. While at Adena, he performed hundreds of surgeries and received the hospital's highest scores for patient satisfaction among all practicing surgeons. In July 2014, Dr. Schiffman returned to South Florida with his wife and two young children. In 2017, he earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Florida International University. He is the Vice Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. In his free time, Dr. Schiffman enjoys running, golf and fitness.
