Dr. Maria E. Padilla joined the faculty of the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine in January 2018 as an Associate Professor of Medical Education. 

Dr. Padilla, a Puerto Rico native, graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Tufts University in Boston and pursued an M.D. from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, where she also completed training in the specialty of Pediatrics, in which she is Board Certified.

In 2013, she completed a Master of Science in Medical in Education Leadership degree from the University of New England and has over ten years of experience in medical education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Before joining our faculty, Dr. Padilla served six years as Curriculum Director and Faculty Development Program Director of an LCME accredited school, where she was responsible for curriculum development and evaluation, as well as providing faculty with training on educational and assessment strategies.
