Opening the medical school of the future

NSU's College of Allopathic Medicine received Preliminary Accreditation by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) on October 10, 2017 to become the eighth M.D. - degree medical school in Florida. We're currently recruiting students for our Fall 2018 charter class. Visit our Admissions section to learn more about the application process and admissions requirements.

April 2017 Submitted Data Collection Instrument and Institutional Self Study to LCME.
June 2017

Achieved Candidate status from LCME.

July 2017  LCME conducted a survey visit for Preliminary Accreditation.
October 2017 LCME granted the College Preliminary Accreditation, allowing it to begin recruiting a charter class.
August 2018 The charter class will matriculate

In addition to applying for LCME accreditation, NSU's Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree program is pending approval from the Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). NSU submitted a prospectus on this "Substantive Change" to SACSCOC for consideration during the body's January 2018 board meeting.
