Make an Impact Every Day

At Nova Southeastern University's Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine (NSU MD), we pair you with clinical leaders to ensure you receive significant hands-on practice throughout the program. Spending more time learning directly from experienced academic and community physicians, rather than in a classroom, provides you with a better understanding of medicine specialties, and sub-specialties, as well as the real-world challenges and opportunities within each.

Inspiring and Achieving Clinical Excellence

NSU MD is committed to the achievements of our medical students through the integration of the following guiding principles:

  • We attract innovative and respected physician leaders who serve as your advisers, educators, and mentors. Their wealth of experience and knowledge forms the cornerstone of our educational approach.
  • We adhere to a philosophy of responsiveness, openness, transparency, and camaraderie, ensuring a nurturing and collaborative environment where you can flourish.
  • We prepare you to overcome health care challenges ethically and enthusiastically, equipping you with the tools and mindset to make a meaningful difference.
  • We proudly partner with leading health care organizations and hospitals to provide diverse clinical opportunities, offering a well-rounded and immersive training experience that sets you up for a successful and impactful career in the health care field.

Onsite Teaching and Research Hospital

Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) East Florida opened a new 200+ bed teaching and research hospital, integrated with NSU’s research centers and clinical trial programs, right on NSU’s Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus, in the heart of Broward County. With easy highway and airport access, the comprehensive care provided will not only benefit those in South Florida, but also visitors from other areas—including the Caribbean and Latin America.

Clinical Sites for Core Rotations

NSU MD has established a partnership with HCA East Florida Division to provide the core M3 and M4 clinical rotations and many elective rotations at multiple HCA hospitals on the southeast coast of Florida. NSU MD is affiliated with Nemours Children’s Hospital in Lake Nona, where students rotate in pediatrics, and with several other regional hospitals, allowing students to engage in elective rotations at these sites.
