Our Faculty and Staff

Aaron Hackman, Ph.D., rejoined NSU in September 2022 and brings almost 20 years of experience across a wide range of facets in higher education, from student engagement to assessment and community engagement. Prior to his current role as director of student affairs within the Dr. Pallavi Patel School of Health Sciences, Hackman served as the associate director of Campus Life for Florida Atlantic University's Broward Campuses, and as the associate director of Student Affairs Assessment prior to that. A Philadelphia native, by way of Upstate New York, Hackman earned his bachelor's degree in history and master's degree in education from Mansfield University in northern Pennsylvania. While at NSU from 2011–2015 as assistant director for Student Leadership and Civic Engagement, he completed a master's degree in College Student Affairs. Most recently, he completed his Ph.D. in Higher Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University in 2023 where he focused on the Lived Experiences of STEM Graduate Students engaging in Academic Service-Learning.
