Amanda Chalfant, M.D., joined the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine in 2025 as a physician educator. She is a board-certified, emergency physician and has more than 15 years of experience practicing emergency medicine in the community setting. Delivering emergency care with both compassion and attention to detail is her expertise, but teaching students is her passion.

She obtained a B.S. in Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, and her M.D. from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. Her interests outside of medicine include first and foremost her children, but she also finds great joy in snorkeling and scuba diving as well as hiking in the mountains of North Carolina.
