Sakeena Baccas is a physician assistant with almost two decades of experience in neurosurgery and orthopedics. She has a keen interest in movement sciences and health and wellness. Baccas earned her Bachelor of Arts from Boston College in 2000, her Master of Science (M.S.) in Exercise Science in 2003, and her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies Degree in Health and Wellness promotion (CAGS) in 2005 from Springfield College. In 2008, she obtained an M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, followed by a Doctor of Health Science (D.H.Sc.) degree from A.T. Still University in 2022. In her first year of practice, she entered the field of neurosurgery at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. In 2009, Baccas moved to Florida to work at Lakeland Regional Medical Center where she also gained experience in orthopedic surgery. She continued to work in orthopedics and neurosurgery in Fort Myers, Florida, for five years. Baccas relocated to the Atlanta area and continues to practice orthopedic spine at Emory Healthcare. Baccas also discovered her passion for teaching. This led her to pursue academia at Nova Southeastern University, in the capacity of adjunct professor in the Physician Assistant Program at the Fort Myers, Florida, location since 2022.

When Baccas is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and dachshunds.
