Dr. Caryl Ann Tolchinsky joined NSU in 2003 and is currently the Director of Student Success and Learning Excellence at NSU MD. As part of NSU MD’s Department of Student Affairs, she works with course directors, faculty, personnel and other university departments to ensure the academic success, educational and personal development of all MD students. She provides assistance related to learning skills, study strategies, assessment of learning styles, time management, and test preparation on an individual and group basis. Dr. Tolchinsky oversees the Peer Assisted Learning Program, where the veteran medical students serve as peer educators to help underprepared students prepare, prepared students advance, and advanced students excel.

 Dr. Tolchinsky has more than 25 years of experience as an educator and administrator in the field of education. Prior to joining NSU MD, she served as NSU’s Assistant Athletic Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services. Dr. Tolchinsky has presented at academic conferences across the country. Currently, she is a member of the Medical Education Learning Specialists (MELS) Group of AAMC.  the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), and the National College Learning Center Association (NCLCA). Dr. Tolchinsky holds a Doctor of Education Degree in Organizational Leadership from NSU.
