Advising, Coaching, and Tutoring
Completing medical school is a difficult endeavor, regardless of how smart and dedicated you are. There will be times when you may feel overwhelmed. Just as Nova Southeastern University's Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine (NSU MD) emphasizes a patient-first philosophy in every aspect of medicine, the Student Affairs team embraces a student-first philosophy from enrollment through graduation.
You will receive extensive support, including personalized coaching from an expert team of mentors. From study and time management tips to test prep and tutoring services and help managing anxiety and stress, your Student Affairs team has the robust resources to help you thrive.
Dedicated Student Support Network
NSU MD advisers help all students, M1 to M4, succeed in the areas of academic progress,
career selection, and professional development.
Throughout the M.D. program, student success and learning excellence offers students
coaching support on managing stress and anxiety, improving study skills, and developing
test strategies.
Year 2 students provide supplemental instruction and tutoring to improve academic
performance of first-year students. With an interest in helping others, M2 students
in the PAL program have excelled in the course and have an interest in helping others
succeed.
Student peer mentors, who have recent and first-hand experience of what underclassmen
are going through, volunteer to mentor students.
