Dr. Sharma is a part of the Intensivist group at Aventura Hospital. She is dedicated to medical education, wellness and curriculum development for trainees. Being boarded in Advanced Critical Care Echo, Dr. Sharma’s core teaching interest lies in Point of Care Ultrasound and it’s clinical applications.
Born and raised in Mumbai (India), Dr. Sharma completed her medical education at K. J. Somaiya Medical College & Research Center. She did her residency in Internal Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (Mercy Hospital). Subsequently she moved to Virginia for her fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at the University of Virginica Medical Center where she also completed a training program in Pulmonary Hypertension/Right Heart Failure.
Dr. Sharma’s academic interests include pulmonary hypertension, venous thromboembolism, critical care ultrasound, and health care quality improvement.
