Dr. Stefanie Carter is an assistant professor and joined the College of Allopathic Medicine in 2016. She has proven expertise in curriculum development, teaching students, faculty affairs, organizing faculty development programs, training faculty, and in the application of new technology. She is the primary point of contact for managing all faculty affairs and development activities. Dr. Carter has more than 14 years of experience working in higher education at NSU in several roles. Her previous positions include working with the Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship, Office of Innovation and Information Technology, and the College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Carter earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with minors in Leadership and Management, Master of Science degree in Leadership, and Doctor of Education degree with dual concentrations in Organizational Leadership and Instructional Technology and Distance Education, all from NSU. Dr. Carter’s research interests include learner engagement, fostering teamwork, online learning, student satisfaction/success, active learning, problem-based learning, technology application in education, medical education, and faculty development. Dr. Carter teaches as a PBL facilitator in the pre-clerkship curriculum.
