Dr. Patrick C. Hardigan is Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for the Health Professions Division and Executive Dean of Research in the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine.  Dr. Hardigan earned both his masters and doctoral degrees at the University of Wyoming. He began his career as a faculty member in 1997 at the University of Wyoming’s College of Pharmacy, where he earned awards for his research and teaching. He moved to Nova Southeastern University in 1999 as associate professor, advancing to full professor in 2003.

Dr. Hardigan is the statistician and research advisor for International Health Initiatives, and has written and served as a biostatistician for phase I, phase II, and phase clinical trials. He serves on NSU’s Institutional Review Board, IACUC, IBC, and Radiation Safety and Environmental and Safety Committees. He founded NSU’s Statistical Consulting Center which serves the needs of faculty and students across the campus.

His research focus is in two areas: (1) psychometrics and (2) health-outcomes research. Through these efforts, he has published over 160 peer-reviewed manuscripts and abstracts, engaged in over 100 peer-reviewed presentations, written one book, participated in externally funded research valued at over $2,000,000 as both a PI and/or coinvestigator, has mentored 6 successful doctoral candidates, trained over 60 dental and medical residents, and founded SlipNot, a population health and data science company.

Nationally, he has served as President for the Association for Behavioral Sciences and Medical Education. He is a member of the American Statistical Association and the American Educational Research Association, and the statistical advisor for The Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice and the American Journal of Dentistry.
